When we have new dogs coming in to rescue all the time, we tend to not have everything we need. If you can help out with any of the following we, both volunteer rescuers and Aussies, would be forever grateful! And please remember "gently used" is just as welcome as new!
Lastly, sometimes our rescuers have special need dogs that come in and require lots of vet work to make them well. Some have been heartworm positive or have a broken leg, or require hip work or other stuff. We always welcome monetary donations for those. We always appreciate any donations to rescue and ask that you please contact one of our rescue volunteers ... we'll share it where it's needed right across the country!
Alberta rescue are holding a fund raiser raffle! Our plans are to hold a raffle in 2007. If you would like to make a donation of a raffle item please contact Jeni Gallichan at aussies@mikatura.com or click here for more information about the upcoming auction!
This is Fly. No she is not an Aussie. She is a sweet little 8 month-old border collie cross. When we heard her story there was no way we could say no to taking her in. Fly has been though an awful lot in her in short life. She has been beaten and has had her tail lit on fire by a 16 year-old boy. Fly also had terrible complications with her spay that involved internal bleeding that could not be pin pointed to any one spot (the vet believes she has a bleeding disorder). Because of the bleeding her stomach swelled and she was rushed back to the vet for her second surgery of the day. She stayed over night at the vet hospital on IV as she had lost a lot of blood and was very weak. Through this all she still has the sweetest, most loving temperament. She also has a $700 vet bill. Anyone wishing to make a donation to help with her medical expenses can
send it to: Anything above what is needed for Fly will be used by Aussies Rescue to help other dogs in need. Fly is in the care of Prairie Australian Shepherd Rescue.
